A Lifetime Friend

A happy Wednesday to you all!

So last week when I was blog hopping late one night I stumbled across a sketch challenge that I didn't know existed. You've probably heard of it because I've been known to live under a rock sometimes! It's called the Weekend Sketch Challenge or Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and it's hosted every Friday by some amazing designers. This week's sketch WSC76 is hosted by the really talented Lauri Schmidlin.

After drooling all over The Greeting Farm's DT member Elena's card using the new Never Ever set, I had to ink mine up! I will be honest with you - I bought this set just to get my hands on Wendy! The set has a Peter Pan in it, but I LOVE this version of Wendy! I love how she has her head in a book, those thick goggle glasses are adorable but most of all I love how breezy her hair and dress looks. So soft and girly!

First I stamped Wendy on Canson Watercolor paper then colored her with SU inks and my aquapainter. Then I cut her out and ran a Sharpie around the edges to cover the white edges. I cut out the purple circle out and stamped the BG Flurries stamp on it with Distress Inks 'Tea Dye' and layered it onto a larger Georgia Pacific cs circle and then onto a scalloped circle cut from the same Bazzil Bling cardstock as my base layer.

The sketch had two horizontal bands across the bottom, so I created one with Martha Stewart's edge punches and the other with some ribbon. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye 29th Street Market collection and I found it at Michaels of all places! Finally, they're getting some good paper in stock!

Tonight is the Club Anya blog hop which starts at 7pm CST (8pm EST) over at the Club Anya blog. I'm going to be playing along, so I hope you can make it and see some amazing cards by all the Anya fans.

Thanks for stopping by again! :)
