Good Morning!

I hope all the mama's out there were spoiled on Mother's Day. I know I was! I finally got what I've always wanted ....breakfast in bed! :) Woohoo! Now, normally, coffee is all I can handle for the first hour, but after a half hour of pretending to be asleep while the smell of eggs and sausage links wafted through the air, I was ready to eat a horse! lol Most of the day was great, but I eventually came down off my cloud and resumed mummy duties...5 big piles of laundry were calling my name. Bleh.

Are you up for a sketch challenge? There She Goes is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches again and they have a great sketch for everyone this week! Go check it out, but before you do, humor me and check out my card today?! ;)

I realize it must seem a little monotonous of me, but I can't help it - whenever I see an oval shape in a sketch, I immediately gravitate to the floral stamp sets! And since I'm not one to rock the boat, I just go along with what my brain says to do. *big cheesy grin*

So I pulled the What's Up Buttercup? set and stamped the only image on it I haven't colored up yet. As always, I used my reinkers and aquapainter brush. To color the buttercups, I mainly stick to SU's Crushed Curry for the base and More Mustard for the shadows. Then a quick wash of Cool Caribbean (a retired In-Color I think) for the background.

I was asked recently about the laying of my nesties, in particular, the classic oval and scalloped oval nesties. There is definitely no give when it comes to layering these nesties. I usually have to adjust these layers several times to finally get them to sit right. I try to line up the two layers horizontally so I see one whole (long) side as I'm lining it up. Try this next time you're lining up your nesties and see if it works for you.

If you'd like to play along with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch, just create your card and upload it to the post using the Inlinks gadget at the bottom of today's post. You could be chosen to win a $25 gift certificate to the There She Goes Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stunning Sandra. It looks like a print for a frame almost more than a card. Just beautiful!

Sandra your Mother's Day breakfast in bed sounds wonderful! You're a very lucky Mom!

Your card... I'm like you. I tend to gravitate to florals with oval shapes, too. I started out with the laundry set and I hated it so much (the card, not the set) that I threw it away and went with flowers. Your card is stunning - the colors are very rich and I can't for Jessica to get that set back in stock.

Thanks for playing along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

The yellow for the flower is perfect, I couldn't get past the red but now I will, I almost love it better! Great card girl!
