Hanna Stamps New Release Blog Hop!

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Welcome to Hanna Stamps first ever new release blog hop! Woohooooo! Are ya having fun yet?!!

If you’re just visiting my blog tonight and want to see the rest of the hop, head to the beginning of the hop over at Frances' blog and start there. If you have arrived from Adela’s fabbie blog, you’re on the right track!

I waited to show you Goth Hanna for this hop because I just *love* the attitude and spunk this set exudes!! So much so that I HAD to do two cards for you!

Since Halloween is right around the corner, Goth Hanna is perfect for teens! I pulled some Halloween paper for this card and gave Hanna really pale skin. If you look closely, you can see the black nose stud I gave her! Hehehe Those stars around Hanna are included in the set too. Loved the accessories in this set!

This next card uses the skull from the set. Can skull’s be cute?! I think this one is darling with the pretty bow in it’s hair…um, yeah, maybe where the hair used to be! LOL Add some rhinestones and some fun ribbon and you’ve got yourself a quick and simple card!

I won't keep you any longer! Now head over to the vivacious Vicki’s blog for some more eye candy!

More Hanna Sneak Peeks!

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Hello!

Hope your Saturday off to a good start! We're gearing up for another session of gymnastic classes for my little girl. She's got all the skill and strength required to be a great a gymnast, but she has the attention span of a gnat! She's only 4 so I'm not expecting much more than that! LOL

Today's Hanna sneak peeks are another favorite of mine from this month's release...

Introducing Farmer Riley...and a surprise!

He's so stinking cute! This could very well be my most favorite Riley! I kept singing the kids song # "There's a hole in my bucket dear Liza, dear Liza..." LOL I didn't have an appropriate sentiment on hand, but now that I think about it, you could use 'Little Love Note' or 'You Rock!' or even 'Singing Your Praises'! :) Again I used Cosmo's Cricket's Mr Campy collection for this card - LOVING that paper!

There is another Riley/Sophie stamp being released this week (which you can check out on Jeanne's and Ilina's blog, but I did not receive him, so....I have a sneak peek at another Riley stamp that I *hear* is going to be released soon!

Can you stand this much cuteness?!?! I literally squealed when I saw this in my package from Hanna Stamps. So adorable! Perfect for the little ones in our families. Both Rileys were colored with reinkers and an aquapainter. By the way, I typically color my Riley's with Creamy Caramel and Going Gray for his hooves and antlers. The paper is another line by Cosmo Cricket - Lil' Man.

Just a reminder; 10pm EST tomorrow night is the Hanna Stamps blog hop and I won't be posting anything until then. Soooo you should stop by Kristi's blog at 1opm to see all the new sets and Riley's all in one place! :)

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

Hanna Stamps Sneak Peeks!

Friday, September 4, 2009

Good Morning! TGIF FRIDAY! Woohoooo!

I can't believe a whole month has gone by already and it's time to show you September's release from Hanna Stamps! But I am super excited about this release ever since I saw them! You're really going to want these sets! LOL

Introducing Fall Time Hanna !

Loooove this set! Might have something to do with the fact that I *love* fall! LOL There are 12 stamps in this set and between the two cards, I've shown you 7 of the stamps. Can you find them all?? This Hanna is a cutie pie with her puffy jacket and hair pulled back. And this Mr Campy paper from Cosmo Cricket is perfect for this set! And it was perfect for today's Hanna Stamps challenge over at SCS. This week Hanna girl Ilina Crouse has given us an inspiration challenge. You can check out the image and the rest of the deets in this thread...HSC85.

These pumpkins are drawn so nice and are perfect for a more elegant, Thanksgiving card. The 'Give Thanks' sentiment is a separate stamp, so you can use it anywhere on your cards. I used this week's Card Pattern's sketch for this layout.

Excited about the new releases?! Me too! I'll have sneak peeks all weekend long, so you don't want to miss them! On Sunday, Hanna Stamps is having a blog hop which starts at 10pm EST, so I won't have a post up until then. We'll be starting the hop at Mrs Kristi's blog, so you'll want to head over there at 10pm EST sharp!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

My Favorite Mummy Challenge

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Good Morning!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday to congratulate me on the news! There's definitely a spring in my step today! :) Can't wait to get started!

Ok, onto today's card! For the past few months me, Kadie and Mary have been sending each other card kits to play with to see what kinds of cards we'll come up with using the same supplies. This month was my turn and as I was thinking about what to do, a rather large package arrived at my doorstep - my Whipper Snapper order!! So to celebrate my favorite holiday, I put together some fun Halloween supplies and today we get to see what we girls made with them!

Aren't these papers YUMMY?! I think they're from Creative Imaginations and Making Memories, but I threw out the tags last weekend when I cleaned up my desk, so I can't be sure now. (See?! It doesn't pay to clean up!)

I sent the girls images of the recently released for Fall 2009 'My Favorite Mummy' rubber stamp. I just couldn't resist him for my collection! He's a good size too. I used the ribbon, twine and buttons from the kit to. My Mummy was colored up with just a few colors. Some Antique Linen for his body, Tea Dye for the shadows and of course some Pumpkin Pie for his candy holder, then some Black Soot for the background. Backgrounds are hard to do with a dark color such as black, so I tend to apply it sparingly. The layout is from a new sketch challenge blog which has my girl Amy on their DT. :) Get Sketchy #3 was this week's sketch. I really didn't want to cover up that glitter paper so this sketch was perfect!

Can't wait to check out what Kadie and Mary did with their supplies! I'm heading to their blogs now....you should too! :)

Tomorrow I'll have some Hanna Stamps sneak peeks to show you! So I'll see you then!

Supplies
Stamps: Whipper Snapper 'My Favorite Mummy' and 'Happy Halloween'
Inks: StazOn 'Jet Black', Distress Inks 'Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Black Soot'
Papers: Georgia Pacific, Bazzil Basics, PP - I think they were Creative Imaginations and Making Memories
Access: Ribbon, Buttons, PTI Rustic Button Twine, Decorative Scissors, Corner Punch, Dimensionals

A Gardener??! Me!?

I can't begin to tell you how unbelievably excited I am at this news!! :D

I've been a Greeting Farm fan since shortly after Marie started the company and when it used to be called Pink Poison! I saw an awesome pirate card on Jenn Muraoka's blog and had to find out who made the stamp. Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since. :) I'm really looking forward to being a part of a wonderful company and creating some fun things over the next few months! Thank you Jess and Marie for this awesome opportunity. :)

In honor of this HUGE news, I made this sweet and simple card!

No crazy layers this time around. And look Ma: no sewing (with thread anyway)! LOL This week's Weekend Sketch challenge #95 was an awesome one! I loved all the elements in it and thought it would work perfectly with the cute owl from the Forest Friends set. I used some paper from DCWV's Green Stack Collection. It works so well with this little guy!

I'm currently in a card swap on SCS with Kadie and Mary - both are currently on TGF's DT and I *think* I may have to case this card for that swap! LOL Hope that's ok Kadie! (Psst! If you'd like to join the swap, there's still time!) :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Congrats Cassie! Email me your snail mail address and I'll get the candy out to you! Thanks again to those who entered. You have no idea how gobsmacked I am that you all visit my little corner of the world. Never in a million years did I think my blog would have this many hits within the first year! I still scratch my head at it all. :)

This looks like a well put together card on the surface, but apparently I wasn't 'all there' the other night when I made this card. I decided I was going to play along with this week's Sugar Bowl challenge. I picked out this beautiful My Mind's Eye paper and then a cute Sugar Nellie image that a friend had given me. The coloring of the image was a disaster so I decided to start again with this Magnolia image. Only after piecing the whole card together did I then realise that what I had done. Sugar Nellie doesn't sell Magnolia!! What a numbnut! LOL Oh well. It's still a cute card. :)

This cute Hilda is colored with SU reinkers on her dress (a combination of Soft Sky and Certain Celery) and Distress Inks for her hair (Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo). The panels were not sponged this time but just machine stitched. I've been on a bit of a roll with the sewing machine lately. Love the finished look it gives a card. Then I just added some buttons from a Foof-Fa-La and some more yummy ribbon and Martha Stewart's tag punch for the sentiment (from PTI).

I can't believe I don't own any Magnolia's of my own. I seriously need to add some to my collection, but I'm afraid that if I buy some, I won't be able to stop!

Having been in the US for almost 9 years now, I feel like I've been quite Americanized, but I still spell and say certain words with an Australian accent. Australia has a lot of slang in their everyday language that I don't use all that often, but when I do, it tends to confuse people. The term 'flat out like a lizard drinking' means working/playing at a fast pace. 'Gobsmacked' is another term I tend to use and it means surprised or astounded. Want to learn a few more? Check out this list of slang! My favorite term - "Budgie Smugglers"! LMBO!

Have an great day!
