TSG202: Color Challenge!

Monday, April 8, 2013

Happy Monday to you all! I hope you had a good one.

The weather here was cold and windy, so we couldn't do any of the yard work we had planned to do. Which was ok, because my bees don't come for another week, so I have next weekend to clean up their area and get it ready for them. Hopefully the weather cooperates and warms up because all this freezing wind we had this past weekend will put those poor Georgia bees into a state of shock, I'm sure!

Because of all that yucky weather, I found some time to make a couple of cards for this week and one of them is for today's There She Goes challenge, TSG202. We're being challenged by the fabulous Trendsetter, Tracy MacDonald, to create a card using a color combo....BLUE, YELLOW and a NEUTRAL!

And here's what I came up with!
TSGLuckyDuck_BySandraMacLean
I can't get enough of those cute little ducks from the recently released Lucky Duck set! They're soooo cute! If you've followed my blog for a while, you know that I have a bit of an aversion to the color blue. So I kept it to a minimum and played up the yellow and neutral instead. Grey's always been a favorite neutral of mine. And when it's paired with yellow, it makes a fantastic color combo!

To make this card, I colored in the little ducky with my SU reinkers (Morning Marigold-retired for the duck, Cool Caribbean-retired for the sky, Creamy Caramel for the sand, and a few Distress Inks for the water) on Canson Manga Cardstock. Then I matted it to some white cardstock. The base MME designer paper was sewed to some PTI Kraft cardstock and the edges of the yellow banner was sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Added a little hemp twine and a PTI button in Stone, and we're done! A clean and simple card, but I love making these every now and then. The layout was inspired by this week's Retro Sketches RS#58.

Do you want to play along and possibly win a gift certificate?

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using the inspiration photo and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (April 15th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG201 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to pop back in on Thursday for a peek at a completely different style of card! :)

I have been surfing online more than three hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made
