Clean and Very Simple

TGIF!! Ahhh, I can feel the weekend in my bones already!

So yesterday I promised you something a little different from me and even as I type this post, I am still skeptical on whether to show it to you or not. It is SO clean and simple that it may very well pass as being unfinished! But no, it was intentional.

No patterned paper, no layers....this is so unlike me! My initial idea was to display this Whipper Snapper image in a circle on a square card, but everything I tried seemed too busy for this relaxing image and I wanted something much simpler. Then I started thinking about the super sweet comments you all leave saying how you love my coloring and thought to myself 'What if that was all that was on the card; just the image colored up?'

Funnily enough, Shelly Comiskey, an illustrator for Whipper Snapper, did just the same thing with one of her cards on Wednesday.....except pulled it off a WHOLE LOT better then I did! I used cheapo watercolor paper; Shelly used Fabriano Mediovalis watercolor card. Does that not sound like deliciously yummy paper?!? I may have to invest in some because I just LOVE that handpressed look to the edges.

I heat embossed the image and after coloring it up, the only things I added to it was some diamond stickles to the bubbles and the ribbon. It's a good thing there wasn't too much to this card because apparently my brain wasn't going to handle much more. Wanna see my first attempt??

Ummm, yeah....ya think I need a break this weekend?? Tomorrow I pick up my reserved copy of the Twilight DVD....I know what I'll be doing this weekend! ;) LOL Have a good one whatever you're doing!

I really like the simplicity of this. You'll have to teach me how to heat emboss after the image is colored, I've only done it prior to coloring. Cool!
