Cutie Pie

Good Morning!

I stayed up wayyyy past my bedtime to finish this card!

I wasn't going to do another card for the 2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown but someone made me. My hubby looked at the first card I created (see below) and muttered something about it not looking like one of my 'normal' cards. I don't know if I have a typically normal card, but apparently I do! Hmmpt. What does he know, right?! Well, that comment played in my head over dinner and by the time I stacked the dishwasher I had decided that I had to create another card for the challenge. Thanks honey! LOL

So here's my second entry for the showdown.

I absolutely adore this little girl! Her name is Emma and she's made by CC Designs at All That Scraps. My girlfriend, Mary, sent me this image and I just had the best time coloring her in! I'm also loving my new nesties and cuttlebug too! LOL I think my new favorite technique is using the nesties as a mask to sponge on a little ink around the edges of the embossed area. Love the effect it creates!

I basically stayed close to the sketch with the exception of the circle panel instead of the rectangle. I added a few embellies like the ribbon, buttons, adhesive pearls and the sentiment tag tied with twine. The rest of the card was sponged with Distress Inks and the panels were machine stitched.

Keep your fingers crossed for me! Happy Stamping :)

Supplies
Stamps: CC Designs 'Bathing Beauty Emma', Basic Grey Swirls, sentiment by Karen Foster Snap Stamps
Inks: StazOn 'Jet Black', Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink, Certain Celery, Cool Caribbean, Morning Marigold, Sahara Sand, Distress Inks 'Antique Linen and Vintage Photo'
Papers: Whisper White, Bazzil Basics, Georgia Pacific, PP - Crate Paper 'Blue Hill Collection - Rain'
Access: Ribbon, Twine, Buttons, Kaiser Adhesive Pearls, Nestibilities, Decorative Scissors, Martha Stewart Tag Punch, Eyelet, EK Success Edge Punch, Sponges, Dimensionals, Stickles, Sewing

Hey guess what LLS...I colored up this darling Emma last night too!! Now, this is a card, Dearie!! So, after you finished with the dishwasher how long did this baby take you? Brilliant work here. There is so much detail and I LOVE the softness, shading and the BUTTONS!! Way to go with the buttons! Fantastic job and I hope you win, Girlie!! Can we vote for the winner?

LOL. i seriously laughed out loud about this story. Husbands, I swear. Sometimes I wonder why I bother showing him stuff I make. But I always do.
Super cute! I love how you color outside the image and sponge. Do you use your aqua painters to color outside image and sponge? Just trying to tap into that brain of talent. lol

And yesterday I made 7 cards and I only sewed on 3. How crazy is that for a sewing junkie? I musta been in a weird mood. lol

You know, my other half does that to me all the time. When I create a card or layout that is not overflowing with embellishments, he goes "that's different from your usual"...I never know if that it meant to be a good thing :)

Anyway, sorry to babble about me. i LOVE this card. It's super cute and I love that stamp
