Ho Ho Ho!

Happy Friday everyone!

This week seemed to just fly by didn't it?! Wow! It was so nice to be back to my regular weekday routine....dinner, homework and a little tv. I have been enjoying the warmth of the wood stove and a cuppa in the evenings. So much so, that I barely made it into my craft room all week! The two rooms are at opposite ends of the house, so I have to make  hard choice some nights! Ha! But I forced myself back into my craft room last night to whip something up to share with you today!
All week long on the There She Goes blog, we've been showcasing cards made with three older sets. Those sets were No Peeking, Hohoho and Holiday Tags and today, the girls and I have a brand new card/project to share with you all!

It should be no surprise that I went with the Hohoho set because it's a FABULOUS set! (And it looks like it's a favorite among the other Trendsetters too!) But for my card this time around, I decided to use the Christmas tree from it. It was the only stamp I hadn't inked up yet and one that I thought would be PERFECT to paper piece!

I need to make a few Christmas cards to go with the cookies the little Sunshine and I will be baking for friends and the mailman this weekend, so I kept my layout pretty simple. No coloring here! I sponged the edges of the green polka dot paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhered it to the kraft base. Then I stamped out some of the snowflakes from the Hohoho set with Versamark ink onto more kraft cardstock, added some white embossing powder and heat set them in place. Next, I matted the piece to some Bitter Chocolate Bazzil Basics cardstock, cut the hills from white glitter paper and sewed them all together. The tree was paper pieced with some scrap MME paper, cut out and I ran my Sharpie around the edges to hide the white edges. I stamped the sentiment onto some scrap patterned paper, matted it with white cardstock and popped it onto the base with dimensionals. I decided at the last minute that the card needed a little something more, so I added the red baker's twine. I think it gave the card that little bit extra don't you think?? I think so! :)

I REALLY appreciate you stopping by today! But now you need to RUN over to the TSG blog to check out what the rest of the design team did with these 'oldie but goodie' sets!!

Go on, scat!! ;)
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

LOVE IT!!! I agree with Gabriela.. Your cards are works of ART.. Just love the color and simplicity of it, yet it packs a punch of color on that cute tree and the twine was a SUPER choice.... LOVE, LOVE!!
