Hi everyone! I think I say this every week, but this week really flew by for me! I got a call from my Little Ray of Sunshine's school Monday afternoon. My little girl had a fever and a headache. So we stayed home that afternoon and all day Tuesday too. She was back at school yesterday and feeling a lot better. The fact that she has a Valentines Day party planned for today might have had something to do with that! lol
Since it is Thursday, this means Jen has another fabulous Deconstructed Sketch for you all!
DS89...you can check out all the sketch details on her blog -----> HERE!
And here's what I came up with!
If I was being completely honest with you, then I'd tell you that the sketch scared me a little! It's very rigid looking, and up until Tuesday night, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. But then I had a *lightbulb* moment! I simply asked myself: "WWASD? What would Amy Sheffer do?" Seriously, I did! Out loud too! lol She always puts together the best cards using any sketch - even hard ones! So I thought about it and decided that she'd definitely distress her papers, which would soften up all those straight edges in the design. Then she'd change the center panel to another shape for the same reason. She's also all about layers, as am I. Can't have too many! I don't think she sews on her papers, but I have to...it's an OCD thing now! She'd probably use banners or something for the three middle elements, which I love, but I stuck with my go-to embellishment...buttons and twine!
That cute image is from the Back In 10 set from There She Goes. It's such a sweet image and together with these not-so-girly papers, I thought they would make for a perfect Valentines Day card for my husband. He loves my cards, but I don't know that he'd love to get a really girly one! lol

Glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better and that she has a wonderful Valentine's party at school!
Oh my goodness! What an absolutely adorable card! I love the distressing and your coloring and the precious image!!!
You are SO funny! I have to completely admit that I have made many a card that started with WWASD!! I'm really glad to hear I'm not the only one! This is stunning... I always love when you use that stamp... it's so adorable and happy. This turned out AMAZING!
Teehee! WWASD, that's awesome! And your card turned out reminiscent of one of Amy's, with a Sandra MacLean signature style too. :)Beautiful, soft colors and love that stamp choice (and coloring). Love how each of us took a little bit different take on this week's sketch.
What a great sketch and a fabulous card. I just love the torn edges. I just love the darling image.
Fabulous card, Sandra - I'm another person who is majorly influenced by Amy's style!! I love the distressed edges on this card, along with your fabulous colouring, and the kraft/aqua/yellow colour scheme is lovely.
Julie :o)
Love the story attached to this card! I am a huge fan of Amy's, and I have been greatly influenced by her style. I have often asked myself that same question. WWASD?
Your card is completely awesome! I love every little perfect detail!
Have a fantastic day, Sandra!
