Project: Get Well from The Greeting Farm

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Good Morning Everyone!

We have another fun preview over at The Greeting Farm's blog for you today using the new "Get Well" set designed by Marina Neira.

Even more exciting and heartwarming, we are calling all of you to action by heading up a CHARITY CARD DRIVE for sick children and their families this week. Tomorrow our fearless coordinator, Jessica, will dish out more info on how you can enter this card drive and put a smile on the faces of not only a sick child, but hopefully their parents, siblings, and all who are affected by all of the heartbreaking illnesses out there. Marie, Jess and TGF have been wanting to do this for some time and we can't wait to see how many cards we can collect for this wonderful cause!

I created this quick and easy card using the Get Well set and this week's SFYTT. These two are soooo cute together! I picked this old Cosmo Cricket paper since the card is for a sick child and all kids LOVE bright colors! :)

We are also really excited about release day tomorrow (yay!!) and this contest announcement. And because it will be the focus of the TGF Release this month, sans Blog Hops, etc...Jess and Marie have put together a HUGE prize for this contest, so stay tuned! In addition, there will be prizes given away tomorrow on our release day for one random commenter!! So stop by the Farm tomorrow to get ALL the deets!

The Design Team-Farmers and Critter Crew have some SUPER cute samples today on the TGF Blog and our own personal blogs too! In fact, ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen today from one of our blogs to WIN this "Get Well" set by Marina! We don't even know who's hiding it...so be sure to make your rounds (heehee, just like a doctor would to "Get WELL!") if you have the time and GOOD LUCK to all!

Here's a list of all the Farmer's and Critter Crew to help you find your way:

TSG48 - It's A List!

Monday, March 29, 2010

Good Morning!

Today's There She Goes challenge is one that will test your ability to resist! It's all about lists and I'm soooo into that! I love lists! It gets things out of my mind and on paper. Anyway, today's There She Goes challenge is a list of things that you must include on your card or project. Those things are:

* 3 different colors
* 2 different designer papers
* 1 button
* 1 Ribbon
* No other embellishments
I found this challenge to be an easy one. Only a ribbon and button for an embellishment....easy peesy!! Those are my embellishments of choice!

I used the brand new Poppies set that was released this past Saturday and some of that yummy Kioshi paper from Basic Grey. Beautiful stuff that paper, but I am finding it really hard to work with. However, I didn't have a problem coloring up the poppies! They're so bold and graphic, I love them! I borrowed this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch #62 for this layout because of it's simplicity.

I used a combination of SU's Regal Rose, then Ruby Red and finally a tiny bit of Cranberry Crisp in the shadows. Then the poppy seeds were colored with a base of Certain Celery, then Buckaroo Blue and a tiny bit of Going Gray over the top to keep the grayish-blue color in tact.

If you'd like to play along with us, just create your card or project and add your name and a link to it on the TSG blog post for this challenge. Then one random person will win a $5 gift certificate to the There She Goes store!

Sorry for the short post today. I'm writing this after midnight and need to get some serious sleep tonight. :) Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello.

FFF and TGF Release Sneak Peek!

Friday, March 26, 2010

Wooohooo! It's finally Friday and I'm SOOO looking forward to this weekend! And not for any particular reason either. We have nothing planned, but I've had a busy week at work and since hurting my ankle on Monday, I just need to move at a slower pace for a couple of days. :)

This week's Farm Fresh Friday is a color challenge with a little bit of a surprise!! We're challenging you to create a card or project using the colors red, sky blue and yellow, but we're also giving you all a sneak peek look at a set by designer Marina Neira!!

None of these colors were in any of my paper pads I own, so I had to rummage through my individual paper collection to see if anything matched. Luckily I found these papers from SEI and Cosmo Cricket! Phew! Color challenges really make me work hard because I don't always 'feel' like working with certain colors all the time. So I'm really glad this card worked out!

A TOTALLY adorable image right?! It's sooooo cute!! Poor little Toby has a boo-boo on his head and Nurse Laurie is taking care of him. This is one of two images in the set and I also used one of the sentiments from the set too!

Now I know the challenge didn't say anything about using black or kraft, but I figured they were neutrals, so that was ok.....I hope! LOL Miss Laurie and Toby were colored with my reinkers and aquapainter brush and just for a little more something, I added some Glossy Accents to their eyes. I used this week's Sketch Saturday #95 for the layout, but changed it up a bit by using a circle center panel instead of a square one.

Here are the links to check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

If TGF is all you eat, sleep and breathe, then you know about the Royal Battle going on! On Wednesday, the first challenge was issued and the teams have until Saturday night to get their first entries to Jess. All of them will be posted to the TGF gallery on Sunday morning and you can vote for your top 3 by leaving a comment on them. I CAN'T WAIT to see every one's creations! This is going to be fun!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

TSG Poppies Blog Hop!!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Hello again and welcome to the final blog hop for the There She Goes April new releases! Today the Trendsetters are showcasing a GORGEOUS set called Poppies!

If you've stopped by my blog from super sweet Pam's blog, then you're on the right track, but if you haven't and would like to see some amazing cards using this set, then head over to the There She Goes blog and start your journey there.

I think this is my favorite set out of the four being released this month! The poppies are absolutely breathtaking and just like the Sweet Pea set, these were made for watercolorists like me! :) Actually, I think this set may just rival my love for the Bloom set.....yep, I think it is my all time favorite floral set now! :) It's 4"x8" that contains 13 stamps and it will be released along with the other three sets on Saturday after the release party, which starts at 9pm EST in the TSG forum.

I used three reinkers to color these Poppies in; SU's Regal Rose for the base coat, Ruby Red for the mid tones and Cranberry Crisp for the shadow areas. And look; I even remembered to leave some highlights! Yay! LOL I borrowed Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC61) for the layout and since the poppies were so bold in color, I used Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection to add to the strong, bold color palette.

Now head back to the There She Goes blog and leave your name in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the post so you can be in with a chance to win your very own Poppies set!

Thanks SOOO much for hopping along with us these past three days! I hope you've all enjoyed the sneak peeks and we'll see you at the release party on Saturday! :)

Supplies
Stamps: There She Goes 'Poppies'

TSG Sweet Pea and Chem. 101 Blog Hop

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Welcome to the second of three blog hops for the April There She Goes releases!

This one is for the two new mini sets Sweet Pea and Chem. 101 sets! If you've hopped here from Pam's jaw-dropping blog, then you're on the right track, but if you haven't and would like to play along with us, just hop on back to the TSG blog and start your journey there. Remember, you could win this fabulous set just by hopping with us today!

Mini sets are such great value just for the huge number of stamps you get in them, but these two in particular, are FABULOUS if you're looking for sentiments!

I LOOOOVE this Sweet Pea set! It's designed by TSG's newest designer, Chris Dark, and it is probably the most versatile mini set I've seen. If you need a Thank You, Birthday or Thinking of You card, this is the perfect set. And for all you watercolorists out there, these sweet peas were meant to be watercolored! :)

Did you enjoy all the sneak peeks?? So much eye candy from all these fabulous designers right?! Sadly, this is the end of the end of the hop and I must send you back to the TSG blog. Remember to leave your name in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the post so you can be in the random drawing to win your very own Sweet Pea or Chem. 101 set!

Don't forget: We have one more sneak peek/blog hop for you tomorrow! :)Thanks so much for playing along today!!

TSG Spring Fever Blog Hop!!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Hello and welcome to the first of three blog hops for the April There She Goes releases!

This one is for the new 6"x8" Spring Fever set! If you've hopped here from Pam's fabulous blog, then you're on the right track, but if you haven't and would like to play along with us, just hop on back to the TSG blog and start your journey there. Remember, you could win this fabulous set just by hopping with us today!

There are so many stamps in this set to choose from (30 to be exact!), but I decided to go with the two squirrels in love because I used to have a huge picture window at my old work, and in the spring time, all I'd see out of that window...were squirrels getting frisky! LOL

I sponged the Labels Four nestie with Yellow Cadmium and Burnt Umber Chalk Inks, then stamped the squirrels and the sentiment with StazOn over the top. The heart was stamped with Real Red SU ink. I borrowed Taylor's TESC105 sketch from this week because it fit these little guys perfectly.

That's it from me and that's the end of the hop! Please head back to the TSG blog and leave your name in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the post so you can be in the random drawing to win your very own Spring Fever set!

Thanks so much for playing along today!!

Happy Monday morning everyone!

How was your weekend?? Sunny? Snowy? Here in NH we had THE MOST BEAUTIFUL day ever!! It was a glorious 68 degrees, we were in t-shirts, had a BBQ and we even ate ice cream! Yay!! Loved every minute of it. Sadly, tomorrow is snapping back into reality and dropping down to a brutal 46 deg. I feel like Mother Nature was just teasing us with that one day of beautiful weather. Hopefully it comes back real soon!

I thought I'd make another card with sweet Miss Emma Puddle Jumper since next week there will be some new Puddle Jumpers on the block. Eek! I can't WAIT for you to see them! :D

Miss Emma is sporting a pink and orange ensemble and her cute little bunny wearing a matching hot pink bow! Hehehe She was released just last month from the new Claudia & Co. stamp company exclusive to Die Cuts R Us. Can you tell I pick my paper before I color?? I have to or else nothing coordinates! :) LOVE this old Greenhouse paper from K&Company! And this layout, from this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge #94, was perfect for Miss Emma and her pretty pet. As usual, Miss Emma was colored with reinkers and my aquapainter brush.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

FFF: It's A Sketch!

Friday, March 19, 2010

Good Morning and a happy Friday to everyone!

I hope you all had a great week! I'm looking forward to this weekend for two reasons; New Moon DVD comes out tonight and Saturday looks like it's going to hit 70 degrees! Woohooooo! Can you say AWESOME!! :) It's a pity that it has to end so soon - Monday going to be a brisk 49 deg! Yikes! I guess summer isn't quite ready to stick around yet. :(

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a sketch by the fabulous Farmer Mary! I love sketches!

But I have to admit that Miss Mary's one had me running scared this week! That center vertical panel completely threw me and I had no idea what to do for it. I eventually decided to camouflage it by picking a very subtle piece of matching paper. I chose to use little Marlene from the Sweet Messages set and colored her up with my reinkers and aquapainter brush. I was so excited to get this Basic Grey paper last weekend at my LSS. I actually went looking for the new Green At Heart and Kioshi collections but couldn't find them, so I ended up caving and buying them online. Can't go wrong with Basic Grey right?? :) I love how Marlene and the Origins collection go together so well!

All the panels were sponged with Distress Inks 'Frayed Burlap' and machine stitched with black thread. The inverted scallops are done with decorative scissors and I scattered some adhesive rhinestones around the card because, well....it looked pretty! :D The sentiment is from a There She Goes set called Birdy Wishes.

Want to see more creations with the sketch? Then check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created with it:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and this week! I didn't get a chance to window shop on Etsy this week :( so no Etsy Friday Finds this week - sorry! Have a great weekend everyone!

Top of the mornin' to ya! And Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!

I'm part Irish...I think. Well, my maiden name was McDermott, so I'm pretty sure I'm part Irish! LOL And yes, I went from a 'Mc' (Irish) to a 'Mac' (Scottish) and I'm sure my ancestors are rolling in their graves because of it! We're going out for bangers and mash tonight, and maybe a pint to wash it all down too. :D Are you doing anything special today?

Today's Whimsical Wednesday challenge is a sketch by little Nikolas Diedrich. It's a pretty easy one and perfect for those little stamps we all have. You can check out the details on the Diedrich Dare blog and while you're there, check out what this week's featured daredevil, Sara Henton, has created!

The last time I used this Love Bug Cupid image from The Character Cafe, I used the little butterfly, so this week I decided to use Mr Skunk instead.

He's really cute with the butterfly, but the nice thing about digital images, is that you can print all of the image or just part of it. And the other nice thing is that you can resize them, which I did so I could get Mr. Skunk to fit inside this center panel. Yep, he's a skunk and I colored him in brown. I had to - black didn't go with the rest of the card! ;)

Need more inspiration?? Check out what the rest of the Daredevils came up with:

Unfortunately, this is my last card for the Whimsical Wednesday challenge. I haven't been able to manage my time very well since returning to full time work, so I had to make a tough decision and say goodbye to the Daredevils. I've had a great time creating these cards! Thanks for the fun times girls!!

Congratulations

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Good morning!

I wanted to thank everyone who gave me links and suggestions as to where you all buy your paper online. I found some new places I hadn't discovered before and ones I'll probably frequent a lot now. I still can't quite bring myself to buy paper online yet though. Paper pad collections, like those from Basic Grey and MME are a no-brainer, but buying individual sheets just terrifies me! Maybe I need to start slow and just buy a few sheets first....hmmm, yeah, that's what I'll do. :) Baby steps.

I got some AWESOME happy mail last Friday....some new Claudia & Co stamps!! :D But unfortunately I can't show them to you just yet. :( You'll see them in a couple of weeks, but in the mean time, here's another look at sweet Daisy Puddle Jumper!

I think this is the second time I've colored her bellbottoms in red! It's weird how it worked out that way. Anyhow, I colored her up with my reinkers and aquapainter brush, then cut her out and popped her on dimensionals. The layout is borrowed from this week's Friday Sketchers #93 sketch and I used scraps from my paper stash. There's a combination of paper from SEI and Scenic Route, which, I think, work really well together! They're both bold and colorful - just like little Miss Daisy. :)

Guess what else we got in the mail on the weekend? A letter from the Keene District School Board notifying us that we will have to register our little girl for Kindergarten! Eeek! Syd beamed ear to ear when I told her what the letter was about. She's soooo excited to be a big kid! I'm ready too, but this just means the pressure is on to have another child soon. When is it appropriate to fall pregnant soon after starting a new job? My gut says one year, but Syd will be 6 and I don't want the age gap to be that great! Any thoughts??

Toodles!

TSG46: Smell The (Sketchy) Flowers

Monday, March 15, 2010

Good Morning Everyone!

Did you have a great weekend? We did end up taking a trip over to Bennington, VT on Saturday and I'm glad we went early because the trip home was a little sketchy! We had to go over the Appalachian Mountains and we were hit with everything from rain to sleet to heavy snow. It was bad, but luckily we left early in the evening. We heard they got 4-6 inches Saturday night and not a drop hit Keene! Phew!

And speaking of sketchy, this week's There She Goes challenge happens to be a sketch! I love sketches, don't you? My Friday night and Saturday morning ritual is scouring my favorite blogs challenges for sketches so I have a starting point for all my cards for the following week. Anyway, you can hop over to the TSG blog to check out the sketch, but before you do, here's what I did with it.

Since I kind of had a bit of a run in with that 'white stuff' again, I thought I needed to 'think Spring' some more, so I used the Beautiful Spring mini set! (Hopefully Mother Nature gets the message!) To create my card, I channeled a bit of Trendsetter Kim's favorite technique and embossed the Bo Bunny patterned paper for some added texture. I then used the matching scalloped paper to add a bit more interest for the center panel.

For the stamped panel, I first cut out my circle panel from some Strathmore Bristol Vellum with my Nesties, then I stamped the image onto the paper while the Nestie was still in place. This way, the Nestie became a mask and protected the edges from the stamped image. Then it was just a matter of coloring up the image (with reinkers and an aquapainter brush) and sponging around the top for the sky and watercoloring in and around the flowers with the same sky color (SU's Soft Sky). The sentiment was stamped last.

If you click on the image, you might be able to see where I goofed up. I forget that red ink takes a VERY long time to dry (12 hours is still not long enough) and accidentally transferred some of it onto other parts of the panel! Hate having to learn the hard way! I carefully tried to scratch the red ink off, but I still left a nick in the paper. :( I don't know if I'll ever learn this lesson!

If you play along with this week's sketch challenge, just leave a link to your card on the TSG blog post and you could have a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the There She Goes store! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dollar Find Friday

Hello!

Have you heard about There She Goes's Dollar Find Fridays?? Each week the trendsetters take turns creating a project that utilizes an item that can be bought for $1 or less (sometimes we just can't help it and it's a little more!).

This week it's my turn and you can check out what I created over at the TSG blog! I'll give you a hint: it's Easter related and my daughter is going to LOVE it! ;)

FFF: Birthday Card

Good Morning everyone!!

Soooo glad it's Friday! I had a pretty intense week at work so I, for one, am looking forward to a bit of a break. We're heading to Bennington, VT tomorrow to putter around there and maybe even pick up a piece or two of Bennington Pottery. Love their pottery!!

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is to create a birthday card!! Don't you think we should have this challenge every week?? I could keep my birthday card stash constantly stocked if we did. :)

I decided to color up Toby Cub-digi up for my birthday card because....well, because he's in his birthday suit! ;) And yes, I successfully managed to print out a digital image! Woohoooo! The Staples print and copy people are now my BFF's and will be seeing a whole lot more of me in the future. No more sneaking into my old work place! Hahaha!

As usual I colored him up with my reinkers and aquapainter brush and I used our very own Critter Crew Mercy's (MTSC64) sketch. The papers are from K&Company's Carolyn Greenhouse collection.

Here are the links to check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

Jessica Diedrich
Cheryl Walker

I am hoping to do some SERIOUS blog hopping tonight since I haven't been able to for a while now. I mean really?? Who in our IT department decided that Blogger was a 'social networking' site and needed to be blocked?! It's seriously cutting into my inspiration absorbing time people! Pphhfft! ;)

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

Relax....This Won't Hurt A Bit!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Good Morning All!

I have been looking forward to showing you all this card since I made it last week. My friends Mary and Kadie have started the monthly card kit back up again. We took a bit of a break over the holidays and now we're back and ready to roll!

Mary was kind enough to cover for me this month and I was so excited when I opened her package because it had some images I've been LONGING to color! Those kooky girls from Kraftin Kimmies Stamps! :D

I think I love these images because they remind me of the characters in Tim Burton's movies; slightly twisted and demented yet as sweet as can be! LOL Mary gave us tons of double sided paper and it was hard to choose which side to use, but I eventually settled on the reds and oranges with a splash of blue and green. I didn't have the perfect sentiment to go along with this image and my printer was packed away, so I settled on this one since it was a bit 'tongue in cheek'. ;)

Drucilla's hair was really hard to do with the reinkers, but I eventually decided to leave highlights where their were rises in her hair and shadows in low areas. It turned out ok, I think. I bet Copics would have done a better job, so I'm eager to see how the girls colored their images in!

Here's a close up of the image for you to see where I put the shadows and highlights. Still need to work on leaving highlights though. Reinkers are hard because you can't use a blender pen to remove any color. Once it's on, it's on for good!
I'm off to check out Mary and Kadie's cards, so thanks for dropping by again today! Tomorrow is another Farm Fresh Friday challenge and maybe an Etsy post too! ;)

Whimsical Wednesday: Cheshire Cat

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Good Morning again!

This is my second post for today. (If you want to know how to create those cloud backgrounds I do (ALL THE TIME!), then scroll down!)

I have another Whimsical Wednesday challenge for you again! This week's challenge is brought to us by little Jack Diedrich and I think he has been bitten by the Alice bug, just like his mum has, because today's challenge is THIS POSTER! *grinning like a Cheshire cat* ;) You can check out all the details on the Whimsical Wednesday blog and while you're there, check out what this week's fabulous featured Daredevil, Rebecca Ednie, has created for you today!

So.....this card looked a WHOLE LOT BETTER in my head than it does in real life! *grin* Does that happen to you too? I love the colors but it's definitely lacking something. I don't know what happened in the translation but man! Something went a little awry! And rather than pull out from today's challenge, I decided to show it to you so you can see that we all have off days! LOL

I combined three challenges into this one card: besides the Whimsical Wednesday Cheshire cat challenge; this week's A Sketch For You To Try for the layout and Jess's Oh Alice color challenge of blue, red and purple. Maybe this was my downfall I think! ;)

If you would like to see better examples of today's challenge, which is a fabulous one BTW, then check out what the rest of the Daredevils came up with:

TSG Wednesday Trends: Cloud Tutorial

Good Morning!

Have you ever wondered how I create those cloud backgrounds on my cards?? I created a mini tutorial over at the There She Goes blog today to explain how it's done. It's a really simple technique and one that you'll use time and time again....I know I do! :D

I used the Birdie Wishes set, released last year, and this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch to create this card. To see the tutorial, head on over to the There She Goes blog now!

See ya!

Sweet Pea

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Good Morning!

Had my husband or little girl been home yesterday I think I would have 'chucked a sickie', which is also known as 'calling in sick when you're not' if you're not from Australia. :) It was in the low 50's and absolutely gorgeous outside!! We've had the windows open for the past three days now and our little apartment is full of fresh air again. Ahhh, Spring is almost here my friends!

Today's card is one that came together pretty fast, thankfully, because I tried to spend as little time as possible at my desk this past weekend for obvious reasons! ;)

I was looking forward to coloring up the adorable Emma Puddle Jumper again, who was released last week, from Claudia & Company. She's so sweet and so simple to color up! The next release isn't for a few weeks, but I'm already dying to get a sneak peek at them!

I borrowed this week's sketch from Friday Sketcher's blog (#92) for this layout and kept the embellishments on the minimal side. The papers are from Pink Paisley and Bo Bunny which I picked up at my local scrapbook store. Do you typically buy your papers online or at your LSS? I like to buy mine at a regular store because I like to see the paper up close, but lately, my LSS has changed out their selection in over a year and I'm getting bored! The next closest store is 1.5 hrs away so it's not exactly 'local' anymore. :( I may have to start throwing caution to the wind and start buying mine online from now on. So scary!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

TSG45: Yellow Spring Flowers

Monday, March 8, 2010

A happy Monday morning to you all!

What a WONDERFUL weekend we had here in New Hampshire!! It was in the 50's both days and I think I even felt my skin start to tingle a bit! :D Spring is definitely on it's way people! Perfect timing too, because I need some sun in my life!

Today's There She Goes Challenge (TSG45), brought to you by little ole' me, is all about sun and spring flowers. I'm challenging everyone to create a card or project using flowers and the color yellow in it. When I dreamed this challenge up, it was still snowing here and I was hoping it encourage Spring to start a little early this year, and you know what?? I think Mother Nature heard me!

I also chose this challenge because yellow is an easy color for me to play with so I figured I'd at very least challenge myself. And I had originally envisioned a predominately white and yellow card with lots of flowers on it, so imagine my surprise when I finally settled on this paper from Kaisercraft and some brown Bazzil paper! Talk about doing a 180!

I used the recently released Dance mini set which went so well with the Kaiser paper. Dance is TSG's first Stamps For A Cause set with $4 from each set sold being donated to the Amyloidosis Support Group in loving memory of Jess's friend, Linda Winner, who passed away from this disease this past January. It really is a beautiful set and creates the most striking flowers.

The layout is this week's sketch from Taylored Expressions (TESC103).

Now it's your turn. Create your card that features flowers and incorporates the color yellow, then head over to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of the challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Mar. 15). The winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! And have a great week!

FFF: Down The Rabbit Hole!

# "I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!" #

Why? Because finally, today, the most anticipated release of a movie since Twilight is open to the public! Alice in Wonderland is here and I have tickets to see it tomorrow at an IMAX theatre in 3D!! Can you imagine how insane that is going to be seeing it on a HUGE screen and have everything jumping out at you?!? =)

We're all about Tim Burton and his movies in our house and my little girl is especially excited about Alice. When we went to see A Christmas Carol at the cinemas before Christmas, they showed a preview of Alice in Wonderland and as soon as the trailer ended, Syd exclaimed "Awesome!!" which had everyone around us in stitches! LOL If my girl was a sensitive soul, I absolutely wouldn't allow her to see it but she loves fantastical movies and Alice is definitely fantastical!

Which brings me to this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge from The Greeting Farm....DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE WE GO! Your challenge, from our resident Alice fanatic, is to create an Alice inspired card to celebrate the opening of the movie.

I actually bought the TGF's Wonderland set when I was released in rubber, but because I'm part of the Critter Crew, I used Maggie the Bunny instead. Did you know she's related to the Hare from Wonderland?!? Well, she could be! ;) To create my Alice inspired card, I used some paper from Basic Grey's Eerie collection since it has a dark and mysterious mood to it and the colors seemed to match perfectly with those in the Alice Posters I've seen around. All the layers were sponged with Distress Inks and machine stitched for some added depth and texture. The sentiment is from the Wonderland set and will you please look at how many rhinestones I used on this card?!? That's more than I ever have used before!! Farmer Randi inspired me to be brave. :D

If you're still a bit stumped for ideas, definitely check out what the Farmers did for this challenge:

Jessica Diedrich
Cheryl Walker
Cindy Haffner
Kadie Ensley
Kim Nath
Mary Giles
Melyssa Connoly
Randi Wall

And we have a special surprise for you! The Crafty Critter Crew are back for another term!! Yep, Jess couldn't let us go and begged us to stay! (Alright, she didn't really beg, but you get the idea!) But that’s not all - please help me welcome two new gals to the Critter Crew, who will be designing alongside Mercy, Sparkle and myself??

Jami Bova
Heather Schlatter

We're all so excited to have them on the team with us for the next 5 months! So you'll see a whole lot more Critters running around on the farm now! :D

Thanks so much for stopping by this morning! A little later on today I have some more Etsy Friday Finds for you to ogle and drool over! ;)

Love Bug

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

It's Wednesday and only two more days until the weekend! Yay!

Good Morning! Can you tell I'm excited for the weekend to get here?! I've been anxiously waiting for the Alice in Wonderland movie to come out for six months and now it's only two more days away! :D *doing my happy dance*

For today however, I have a fun Whimsical Wednesday/Diedrich Dare challenge for you all. It's a sketch by the talented little tyke, Jack Diedrich! It also happens to be the first challenge of a new month and that means this week's sketch is sponsored! :D

The sweet gals at The Character Cafe are giving away a $10 gift certificate to one lucky winner this week. They have a whole store full of great digi images, so you'll have lots to choose from. All the Daredevils were generously given a digi or two to play with. Please pop on over to the WW blog to check out the sketch and this week's featured daredevil - Jacquie Peifer! But before you do that, here's what I did with my digi:

I chose Love Bug Cupid since I can't resist cute little animals in love. :) I actually used half of the image, which is the nice thing about digi's - you can resize and crop them to your needs! I used reinkers to color this cutie patootie in and then added some sparkle to it's wings with a Sakura Stardust pen.

To see some more images from The Character Cafe, please check out what the other Daredevils created with their digi's:

One In A Million

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

A happy Tuesday to you all!

This past weekend's series of blog hops celebrating the brand new release of the Puddle Jumpers from Claudia and Company was a HUGE success! We are so happy that you love the Puddle Jumpers are much as we love them! They are available now in the Die Cuts R Us store, so you can feed your addiction....oops! I mean so you can add them to your collection. Hehe! ;)

After little Emma, Noah is probably my next favorite Puddle Jumper. He's just has this sweet look on his face like he could do no wrong.....it'd be nice if that was always the case! LOL

As always, Noah was colored with my trusty reinkers and an aquapainter and I sponged around the panel with SU's Cool Caribbean. To get the color in and around the image, I use the aquapainter and blend the color out until it runs clear. The idea of masking off every image to sponge around it is too painful to even contemplate! LOL

I still have scraps of Cosmo Cricket's Mr Campy paper from last year, and it seemed to go so well with Noah and this layout. Which, so happens to be this week's Friday Sketchers #91 challenge. Love it when things work out like that! *grin*

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
