Mother's (In Law) Day

Good Morning! Good Morning!

I needed to create a Mother's Day card this week for my mother-in-law. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute! LOL This week's Mojo Sketch Challenge MOJO85 was the perfect place to start and as an added bonus both Our Creative Corner's and CCEE Stampers challenges this week is to create a card for your mother! Woohhooo! Love it when challenges come together like that. :D

You know, I frequently try to convince my hubby that I'm the poorest stamper around with the lack of stamps and toys/equipment I have. He usually just rolls his eyes at me. :) So it pains me to admit it, but I don't own a Mother's Day sentiment stamp. ;( However, I pulled this sentiment from the oldie, but goodie SU set, Best Blossoms, which works just as well.

I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock with Timber Brown StazOn and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then I layered it again on another piece of Very Vanilla. The patterned paper panels were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, matted with Kraft cardstock and machine stitched around the edges. I sponged the chipboard swirl with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo inks and adhered it to the vertical panel. I just love these vintage flowers from Prima Marketing (Michael's Craft Store). They're so beautiful! I blinged them up a bit by adding some rhinestone brads and smaller adhesive rhinestones for the tiny prima flowers. I would have loved to have added some of that glimmer mist product that some people are using. It would have finished off this card so nicely. Add it to my wish list! :)

Look Ma; no coloring! hahaha I like to change things up a bit every now and then. :)

Remember that card I made for Rubbernecker's Wacky Wednesday challenge a couple of week's ago? Well, I found out the other day that it won! :) Waahooo! Now I have a 40% off coupon to use at Rubbernecker! (We're supposed to be on a spending freeze right now, so I may have to make a small, sneaky purchase that will hopefully go unnoticed by hubby. Shhh!)

Thank you, as always, for stopping by today.

Well I'm continually amazed at what you do with your limited supplies. You may be poor in stamp stuff but so rich in talent and that is what matters. Hehehe...I did almost the same thing with creating a mother's day card in terms of combining challenges. Great minds think a like.
