In A Garden Of Friends...

Good Morning!

My Little Ray of Sunshine's first day at school went well....I think. That's because getting any information out of her was like squeezing blood from a stone! I had to ask all the right questions otherwise the only answer I got to the 'What did you do today?' question was: "Nothing." Sound familiar?! Yesterday sounded like it was a little more difficult for her because she had had a rough afternoon at the after school care facility. But I soon found out the reason for it - apparently an older boy on the bus threaten to kick her butt if she sat next to him. Now I know all about school buses and the unspoken hierarchy that goes on in them, but seriously?! What makes a 7 or 8 year old think it's ok to threaten a 5 year old little girl?!! I was furious! I plan on calling the program administrator about it this morning to make sure it doesn't happen again. Syd is a tough little girl, but I won't have her scared to take the bus everyday! Grrr!

Lets move onto more pleasant things shall we? I colored in this image about three weeks ago and had a bugger of a time trying to get it on a card! I couldn't find a sketch that worked with it and then I had problems with what paper to use. Finally everything came together the other day and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

Isn't this image adorable?! It was so cute that I couldn't resist putting it in my shopping cart (along with other yummy things!) from DieCutsRUs about a month or so ago. It's called Mouse In a Hammock and it's drawn by Tina Wenke for Stampavie. Claudia at DieCutsRUs no longer has it in her store (can't imagine why?! ;)) but I did spy it at 7Kids....just in case you can't live without it, like I did!

As usual, I colored the image with my SU reinkers and aquapainter brush, then once it was dry, I added some Glossy Accents and Stickles to the daisy petals and spritzed the whole image with some Pearl Glimmer Mist. You should see it IRL! The layout is this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge #118 and the paper is a combination of Crate Paper and Basic Grey's Origins Collection. Each panel was sponged with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, machine stitched to some Bazzil cardstock. That sweet sentiment is from the Garden Of Friends set by There She Goes. It's perfect for this image, don't you think?! Since I used an animal on this card, it fits this week's A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge #120!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a good one! :)

Precious PRECIOUS card, Sandra. You're doing the right thing to speak up for Syd every time there's a bullying incident. You're going to find that being your child's advocate isn't always the easiest or most popular thing to do, but it's the right thing to do. Our bus drivers seat the students by age or class and keep the younger kids up in front of the bus. You're doing the right thing by reporting the incident.
