DS93: Pretty Cool

Thursday, March 14, 2013

G'day everyone!
Two cards in two days....does that make me on a roll?! I can't remember the last time I did that when it wasn't a release week! lol

Are you ready for another Deconstructed Sketch?? I hope so! Before I share the sketch with you all, here's what I did with it...

DS93_BySandraMacLean

Pretty cool huh?? ;) I couldn't resist asking! Haha I finally colored this image from The Greeting Farm's Oliver & Amelia 'Buddies' set that's been sitting in my 'to be colored' drawer for about three years now. I'm so bad! She's colored with SU reinkers (Pool Party for her dress, Crushed Curry, Really Rust and Soft Suede for her hair and Creamy Caramel for her skin). I actually turned the sketch on it's side, so if you tilt your head, you can what the sketch really looks like.....or you could just look at the photo below! lol

It's a beauty, isn't it? Please check out what the rest of the Deconstructed Sketch girls did with it:-

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you're good, I mayyyy be back tomorrow with another card! lol

Hugs,
Sandra

Smooches!

Good Morning Farm Lovers!

I've been feeling WAY guilty for not inking up my new Wild Sprouts from The Greeting Farm. They're not the newest kids on the spot, but since they haven't seen ink yet, they're new to me! I also bought some new paper from Crate Paper, a few weeks back that I haven't broken into yet, so Saturday night I pulled them all out and got them dirty! ;)

I've really missed my time on the Farm (the Greeting Farm, that is) so it was great to revisit it by playing with what might possibly be the CUTEST wild sprout in the land - Dee Dee! I also used this week's Club Anya and Friends Saturday Sketch challenge for my layout. Do you see the sparkle on that inverted scalloped border?? It's black glitter paper (from Michaels) and it's my favorite paper right now! I can't get enough of the stuff!

As usual, I used my reinkers and aquapainter brush to color in Dee Dee. I distressed the base panel with my edge distresser and then each panel was sponged with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and machine stitched with either a straight stitch or my other favorite thing right now - zigzag stitch! I don't own the inverted scalloped circle nesties, so I used the flip side of my Fiskars scalloped scissors instead. When I do use this technique, I try to hide the point where I stopped and started under something - like the ribbon. I punched a scalloped border out of some scrap black cardstock and tucked it under the ribbon. The sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie's everyday sentiments.

It felt good to ink up a neglected stamp! May have to do this on a regular basis....hmmm, I wonder what else is calling my name?! ;)

You Go Girl!

Friday, August 13, 2010

Happy Friday!

I CANNOT believe we're already into the middle of August! Where on earth did the first 7 months go?! *scratching my head* I can't believe the cooler days are almost upon us! I still feel like I need more vitamin D in my skin! *sigh* As much as I love the Fall, I just don't think I'm ready for it this year.

I wanted to make a card that was a little fun and out of the ordinary for me, so I played with one of Jenny Bowlin's mini bingo cards!

I've never played with one before and embellie-challenged moi wasn't quite sure how to use them. :) I looked around blogland (love blogland!) and figured out that you just treat them as background patterned paper. Ohhhh! That was my light bulb moment! :) I've also been dying to try the layered scalloped look everyone's been doing lately. Only I don't own any of the die templates that make them (yet!), so I used my trusty corner punch, with the guard off. It doesn't produce a deep scallop but it still works.

Ooops! I almost forgot to mention sweet Mino! She's one of the cute kids from TGF's Roll Call kit. I almost forgot how to color in these Wild Sprouts, it's been so long! Out came the reinkers and aquapainter brush again and I borrowed last week's TESC123 for my layout. And because I'm on a roll with using up my old patterned paper, I used some sheets from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl collection. Almost ready to buy me some new CC paper! :) hehehe

Hope you have a fabulous weekend whatever it is you're doing. We're heading to the Mall (it's 1.5hrs from us) to buy the Little Sunshine new clothes for the coming school year. I can't believe she starts school in three weeks! Eek!

PS: I finally got around to putting a few cards from this past couple of weeks (including this cutie) into the store! Need to make space for all that new paper I need to have! hahahha

TGF 2nd BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP!!

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Hellooooo sweet peeps! Welcome to the two year anniversary birthday blog hop for The Greeting Farm!! If you'd like to hop along with us tonight, then head on over to The Greeting Farm blog where the master list is, to find out where to start hopping!

I'm soooo thrilled for Marie and her incredible stamp company! She's come a LONG way since the Pink Poison days and a handful of stamps. Congratulations Marie on your 2nd birthday and I am SO looking forward to another year of incredible stamps and characters!

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I inked up the BRAND NEW Cupcake Anya digi stamp since it all started with her and a few of her pirate friends! :)

She's such a cutie...and all grown up now! Before you know it, she'll be off to kindergarten and having kids of her own! (Oh, wait! She's done that already! lol) hehehe

I colored her with my reinkers and aquapainter brush on Georgia Pacific cardstock. Then I used this week's Mojo Sketch Challenge (MOJO149) for my layout and some of that yummy paper from Basic Grey's Olivia collection. I found the perfect cupcake sentiment from Stamping Bella and since it's a birthday card, it has to have some bling on it, right?? :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Head on back to the TGF blog to find out where to go next!

FFF: Digital and Something New

Friday, July 16, 2010

Wooohoo! It's Friday peoples!! :)

It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday challenge! This one is brought to us by the talented Farmer, Melyssa Connolly. She wants us to use a digital image and to try a new technique on our projects. Don't worry: it doesn't have to be new to everyone, just to you.

I was looking forward to this challenge since I'm not so brave when it comes to trying new things on my cards! Lately I've been seeing a ton of handmade flowers on projects so I thought I'd try to make one too. Not bad for a first try, right?! I used this tutorial by Wendy Smedley to make mine. I think next time I'd like to try some really bright patterned paper and really go to town on the distressing part! :)

I colored the fun digital image of Harold the Koala banging on his bongo's with my reinkers and aquapainter brush on some Georgia Pacific cardstock since it's all I can fit through the printer at Staples. The edges of each panel were sponged with either Antique Linen or Vintage Photo and I machine stitched there edges too. Although you can't see it in the picture too well, I sprayed the main panel with some Glimmer Mist to give it more sparkle - LOVE that glimmer mist! Then I added the rustic twine, some candy dots and the paper flower and I was done!

Check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

What are your plans for the weekend?? We're thinking about doing some blueberry picking and catching a movie or two at the drivein's. There's one about a half hour from our place and it's surrounded by farmland. It's so quaint! I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend close to home after all the flying, walking and driving I did last weekend with my girls.

Thank you so much for visiting today! I'll be back tomorrow with my card for tomorrow's Sketch For You To Try! :)

Wicked!

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Good Morning!

How are you today? I'm trying to get over a chest cold I've had for two weeks now. I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest! Yesterday, after being sent to the hot and humid warehouse for work, I discovered that air conditioning is aggravating it. When I'm in the heat, I stop coughing. It's a pity my desk isn't outside in the nice warm sun. :(

Today's card is one I made last week for my sweet friend Mary. I've been dying to color up one of my Wild Sprouts for months and months now!

I've been so busy coloring in the Critters from TGF that I have a pile of uninked stamps a mile high! And that doesn't sit well with my conscience. So I decided to color up Jade from the Roll Call kit! She's such a doll! I thought she'd look great with some of that new paper from Basic Grey, called Olivia. LOVE this collection!!

I colored Jade with my reinkers and aquapainter brush on some Strathmore Bristol Vellum. I've mentioned this before, but just to be clear, it's not really vellum. It just describes the texture of the paper. I buy it from Michaels for about $7 a pad. Each panel was sponged with distress inks and machine stitched with black thread. The PTI Buttons were threaded with black DMC embroidery thread.

Something momentous is coming to The Greeting Farm! Look out for some BIG NEWS tomorrow! ;)

FFF: Sketch By Mary

Friday, July 9, 2010

Yay! It's Friday again!

I've been on vacation all week and looooving it! The first half of the week I spent my mornings by the pool, catching some much needed rays (don't worry - I didn't toast myself!) and stamped the hot afternoons away. And now I'm in Maryland hanging out with friends for the weekend. Yes...I could do this every week! :)

And being that it's Friday, I have another Farm Fresh Friday challenge for you all! This week's challenge is my favorite kind - it's a sketch! And my sweet friend, Farmer Mary Giles, is the talent behind it. You can see the sketch and all the details on TGF blog.

I tried really hard not to color Irvin Sax in like I did last time, but I couldn't help it! He's just meant to wear a tux jacket and crisp white shirt! :) I printed Irvin on some Georgia Pacific cardstock and colored it up with reinkers and an aquapainter brush. I decided to use up some of my old Basic Grey paper since I have a few new pads coming in the mail any day now, so I pulled a couple of papers from the Offbeat collection and paired them with chocolate and kraft cardstock. I LOVE kraft cardstock! It's like that favorite shirt in your wardrobe that can be dressed up or down! I decided to emphasis the criss cross element instead of playing it down and instead of a regular square behind the main circle panel, I used the Labels Four nestie. After I made the card, I decided to add the buttons for some interest. The sentiment is from a There She Goes set called Birdie Wishes.

Now it's your turn! We want to see what you create with Mary's sketch! Create your card and upload it to the TGF gallery for everyone to check out! You could be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize from The Greeting Farm!!

I have a special blog post for tomorrow, so ya'll come back now ya hear?! I hope everyone has a FABULOUS weekend!

Supplies
Stamps: The Greeting Farm 'Irvin Sax digital stamp', sentiment from There She Goes 'Birdie Wishes'
Inks: More Mustard, Really Rust, Going Gray, Cool Caribbean, Soft Suede, Distress Inks 'Frayed Burlap and Black Soot'
Papers: Georgia Pacific, Kraft, Bazzil Basics, PP - Basic Grey 'Offbeat Collection'

FFF: Sew Random!

Friday, July 2, 2010

Good Morning Sweet Peeps!

It's Friday again?! Where on earth did this week go? It only just felt like Monday a couple of days ago! I'm not complaining though - this means that in a few short hours, I'm officially on vacation!! Wooohooooo! I've got a whole 10 days in front of me to do as I please (with the exception of a couple of bbq's, but that's not really an issue)! I think I'll probably keep the Little Ray of Sunshine home with me one day next week and laze around by the pool while eating strawberries...ahhh, now THAT sounds fabulous! :)

Have you seen Eclipse yet? I saw it Wednesday night, but sadly, we got there a half hour before it showed and the only seats we could find were right up front two rows from the giant IMAX screen! I highly suggest you NOT see the movie this way! lol The chins of every actor looked twice as big and the action scenes were very blurry. I'm going to see it again next week, so I'm not too disappointed about it. :)

Well, since it is Friday, that means I have another Farm Fresh Friday challenge to share with you! This one is brought to us by the creative Farmer, Randi Wall! She wants to see a whole lotta sewing on your cards or projects and at least two designer papers! :) I know I can do that with my eyes closed! :D

This is the card I gave to my little girl for her birthday the other day. (By the way, thank you to everyone who left birthday wishes for her on my post the other day! She was so excited to see a picture of herself on my blog and everyone's comments!) She loves her merry-go-rounds, so I knew she'd love this image of Benny and Penny! This is another of the new digi stamps released yesterday and it's probably my most favorite image from the release. I love all the detail!! But man, it takes some serious time to color! It was totally worth it though - I looove how it turned out!

As always, I colored this image with my reinkers and aquapainter brush and as Randi requested, I used a straight stitch on the top and bottom panels and a zigzag stitch on the middle panel. I did something a little different this week with my ribbon. I thread it through the main panel to break up the white spaces just a bit. You can't see it in the picture too well, but I sprayed the main panel with some Glimmer Mist to give it more of a magical feel.

TGF Critter Crew Blog Hop!

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Good Morning Farm Lovers!

It's finally release day over at The Greeting Farm and as always, Marie and Jess have a few surprises up their sleeves!! There are TWO HUGE blog hops going on today and you, my friends, get to reap the rewards!

The Critter Crew gals are hosting a short and sweet hop showcasing the three digi stamps being released today by designer, Marina Neira! You can start the hop over at the creative blog of Amber Hight's, and once you're done hopping with us, head over to the Club Anya & Friends blog and skip along with them! One lucky commenter from the Critter hop will win ALL THREE digi stamps and on the CA&F hop, one random commenter will win all three Creepy rubber stamp releases!! And along the way, you just might find a drop of inspiration or two. ;)

Sailor Seal is used to blue hues, but I'm a duck out of the water when it comes to this color! He's the newest digital stamp added to The Greeting Farm's Critter Collection and the very first aquatic animal too! I borrowed this week's Card Posititioning System's sketch for my layout which explains why I broke up the sentiment into 9 pieces and spaced them out like I did. As per usual, I colored up the image with my SU reinkers and aquapainter brush on Strathmore Bristol Vellum. The only color I added to the seal was some Going Gray by SU in the shadow areas and his scarf was colored with Morning Marigold (with just a smidgen of Really Rust for the shadows).

Your next stop along the way is the fabulous Shaela Odd's blog!! And if you get lost, here's the full list of all the blogs to hit up today!

Lets Get Inky with....TGF!

Monday, June 28, 2010

A happy Monday to you all!

Did you have a great weekend? We had a birthday party for our little ray of sunshine on Saturday and she had a blast! A handful of her friends from daycare came and she got a few more Barbie dolls to add to her small collection. It was funny trying to explain to her that her actual birthday isn't until Wednesday - she kept asking if she was getting another cake! lol

Today's a special day at The Greeting Farm because there are a WHOLE BUNCH of sneak peeks for you to drool over! You can see them all over at TGF blog, but before you fly over there, here's a close up of my sneak peek for you!

It's a BRAND NEW digi stamp of lovable Toby Painter from artist Marina Neira! Toby might just be my favorite critter from the Critter line of stamps at TGF. I mean, look at that face; how can you NOT love that face?! :) He reminds me of my little girl when she paints, so I decided that the fun Apple Jack Collection paper from Sassafras Lass went with this Toby image perfectly! The layout is from this week's Crazy 4 Challenges sketch and as always, I colored up Toby with my reinkers and aquapainter brush. I did add some Rangers Glossy Accents to his eyes just to liven him up a little.

Wanna see more sneak peeks?? Then check out the Farmer's blogs and the blogs of my Critter Crew gals!

and the fabulous Critter Crew...

Be on the look out for some more sneak peeks later on in the week. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

FFF: Cindy's Sketch

Friday, June 25, 2010

Good Morning a VERY happy Friday to you!

I feel like a broken record but seriously - what a week it's been! I had two more trips down to Connecticut this week for work and stamped my heart out until after midnight every night getting cards made for all the blog hops this week - I'm absolutely exhausted! But it doesn't stop there because tomorrow is my little ray of sunshine's birthday party! She turns 5 next week! (I have 1000's of photos to prove it but I still don't know where the time went?!) I've got favors to prepare and salads to make, a castle cake and balloons to pick up! It's a good thing I have vacation coming up or else I would be in some serious trouble!

This week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge from The Greeting Farm is a great sketch brought to us by Farmer Cindy Haffner!

It's great isn't it?? Perfect for any of The Greeting Farm characters and Marina Neira images.

Forgive me, but I didn't experiement too much with this sketch this week. With my demanding work schedule, I was a little fried when I made my card for this challenge. Next week I promise to push myself a little more. ;)

I decided to use the Candy Cane Snack digital stamp and make an early Christmas card. I probably should start winding up and make a few more now that we're almost into the second half of the year! I just love these two! Especially on a Christmas card! Sometimes a non traditional Christmas card is so refreshing, don't you think?? (Expecially when we're still in the middle of summer here!)

As usual, I colored up this digital stamp with reinkers and an aquapainter on Georgia Pacific cardstock and used some of those colorful Christmas papers from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly By Golly Collection. I kept the papers pretty monochromatic since the main image had so many colors in it. I have a very bad habit of leaving the addition of a sentiment on my cards until the last moment and, in this case, leaving no room for it! Doh! So I'll probably just put one on the inside instead. :)

If you need some more creative inspiration (which, you probably will after my sad attempt!), please check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

Good Morning Sweet Peeps!

Thank goodness it's Friday! What a week this has been! I had to travel to Connecticut twice this week and Little Miss Sunshine had a dentist appointment that resulted in a huge cavity being filled. I was a little nervous for her but she was a trooper! Oh, and I can't say enough about her dentist - she really knows how to keep the little ones distracted!

Anywho, it is Friday and you know that means I have another Farm Fresh Friday challenge to share with you! It's all about my favorite embellishment (besides ribbon)...BUTTONS! Farmer Kim Nath is challenging us all to create a card or project that uses at least three buttons on it! :)

My brain was pretty fried by the time I made my card so I'm afraid I didn't stretch my creative juices much at all this week. :( I used exactly three buttons and I didn't even use them creatively! Tsk! Tsk!

For this week's card I decided to use Maggie Cleaning digital stamp from The Greeting Farm's Critter Collection. As per usual, I colored up the image with my SU reinkers and aquapainter brush on Strathmore Bristol Vellum. Miss Maggie was colored predominately with SU's Creamy Caramel with just a little bit of Really Rust in the shadows. Her dress was colored in Old Olive and her apron with Antique Linen Distress Ink. As I do with all my Critter images, I added some Glossy Accents to Maggie's eyes (as well as the water in the bucket) to make them shine. The layout is from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #73.

Hi everyone! TGIF!

I've gone to bed after midnight every night this week. Between working on cards, watching my favorite shows on Netflix and the NBA Final playoffs...I'm pooped! And I can't really sleep in tomorrow morning with The Man working his hell shift. I have to be up and somewhat coherent for the Little Ray of Sunshine. Maybe Sunday I can catch some zzzz's. :)

Ok, so you know what Friday means by now...yep, another Farm Fresh Friday challenge!

Our talented, and newest Farmer, Mercy Kerin, has created a sketch for everyone and I think it's one you're going to L.O.V.E!

Pretty cool isn't it? I have to admit that for a person like me who loves her layers, this sketch scared me, just a tad! Haha Give me layers and I'm right at home....no layers and I'm like a fish out of water!

But I persevered and created this card using Maggie from the Sweet Messages set by designer Marina Neira. As usual, she was colored up with reinkers and aquapainter brush and I used the large oval nestie to cut her out. Then I matted her on a scalloped oval nestie. I created the card with some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely Collection and a big Prima flower with a button in the center. See that piece of ric rak ribbon?! It's not actually ribbon! I used my cheap decorative scissors (from Michaels) to make it! Where there's a will, there's a way! :)

I know you'll want to see what the Farmers and Critter Crew have created with this sketch, so here's a list of the blogs:

Ok, that's it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by this week and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I have a surprise post tomorrow, so be on the look out for it! :)

FFF: My Favorite Piece of...

Hello Sweet Peeps!

How's your week been? Busy? Relaxing? I've had my head glued to a computer all week and man, my shoulders and neck hurt like heck! I'm thinking maybe I need to snag The Man's gift certificate I got him for his birthday and use it myself! Nah! I couldn't do that to him....but I am thinking it might be fun to have a couples massage and invite myself along when he goes. Ahhhh, doesn't that sound blissful? :)

It's Friday and that means I have another Farm Fresh Friday challenge to share with you! You gals are going to have a lot of fun with this one! It's another inspiration challenge, BUT this time - you provide the inspiration!! There's only one, ok, there's just two rules: the inspiration has to be a piece of jewelry AND you have to sneak some BLING onto your card somewhere! Awesome right?! Told ya, you'd love it! :)

My pretty piece of inspiration jewelry was a piece I found while window shopping on Etsy.com a while back. Isn't it beeeeautiful?! So green and fresh! So for my card today I borrowed the colors from this piece and used sweet Miss Laurie to make this thank you card.

As usual, I colored up the image with my SU reinkers and aquapainter brush. I used Black Soot from Distress Inks to color in Laurie's body and a teeny tiny bit of SU's Going Gray on her white stripe. The rest of the image was colored with a whole stash of SU colors. As I do with all my Critter images, I added some Glossy Accents to Laurie's eyes to make them shine. The layout is from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge and I added just a smidgen of bling to the card for some sparkle.

There's probably more amethyst in my card than in the jewelry, but that's ok - it's supposed to INSPIRE, right?? Hehehe!

(When I get home from work today) I'm off to check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

Farm Fresh Friday - Inspiration Challenge

Friday, May 28, 2010

Hello Friends!

Have you had a great week? I've had quite a busy one with the Little Sunshine's soccer matches, release week cards and I've had two appointments postponed on me! Very crazy week indeed! But I'm making sure today is a very cruisey day for me. Why? Because it's by birthday, that's why! :) Happy birthday to me! Hmmm, not sure how happy I feel about this birthday, but I'm trying not to dwell on it too much. Need to party with my girls....and I would if I had any girlfriends in town! Not to worry though; I've got some plans in the works and I'll be partying with some soon. ;)

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a great inspiration one created for us by our fearless leader, Jess!! You can check out the image on the TGF blog and while you're there, check out all the deets too. I can't wait to see what you all do with it!

Here's what I did with it and one of Marina Neira's cute little critter digi's. This is Timmy and Penny in the Dance Fever digi stamp. I'm thinking that it's Penny's birthday and she and her beau, Timmy, are having a night on the town to celebrate! ;)

To create this scene I printed out the digi stamp onto some Georgia Pacific cardstock and colored it up with my reinkers and aquapainter. Then I cut them out and adhered them to the colored up cityscape image (from Starving Artistamps). Then I paper pieced the clouds from the retired Fly Away set and adhered all of them to a nice piece of Jilly Bean Soup cardstock (LOVE this stuff!) Not my usual style, but it's always fun to try something different. :)

Need some more inspiration? Then check out what the Farmers and the rest of the Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

Sadly, this is our last FFF challenge with CC gal Jami Bova. Her work has her traveling for the next few months, so help me wish her GOOD LUCK and a safe return home soon! We're going to miss you Jami!

FFF: Feeling Groovy Sketch

Good Morning Peeps!

So yesterday was was my Little Ray of Sunshine's second ever soccer match. She definitely has some natural talent for the game, but not for the goalie position. You see, my little girl thinks the goals are really just a jungle gym in disguise! lol She was swinging all over it and crawling in and out of the holes in the net! Oh, and you know how there's always one kid in every team that scores a goal for the other team...well, that kid was my kid this week! Hahahhaa!!

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a fabulous sketch created for us by my sweet friend, Farmer Mary! It's perfect for any Greeting Farm character, right? And perfect for those adorable critters from TGF designer, Marina Neira!

Harold Drums was one of the recent digi stamps released this past Saturday and the only one I haven't colored up yet. I do LOVE my koala's! Infact, I still have a stuffed toy koala musical box that my Aunt gave me when I was 7. It plays the Waltzing Matilda song, and every time I hear it I can't help tear up. It's a song all Aussie kids sing in school as a kid and as an expat, it means so much more to me now.

I couldn't help tweak my card just a weeeee bit! :) I used a circle panel instead of a rectangle and I added a flower to the bow for a little something extra, The paper, is from Crate Paper's Blue Hill Collection, which I got from Taylor's TE store and the sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

I know you want to see more fabulous creations using this sketch, so here are the links to check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:

THE GREETING FARM Critter Crew Blog Hop!!

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Helloooooo peeps!! Welcome to The Greeting Farm's Critter Crew Release Day blog hop!!

Today the Crafty Critter Crew are showcasing the three irresistible new digi images from Marina Neira being released today, so sit back, grab yourself your beverage of choice and enjoy the hop!

If you've traveled here from Jen's fabulous blog, then you're on the right track! But if you haven't and would like to hop along with us, then head over the very 'dirty' blog of Amber Hight, and start your journey there.

How adorable is little Irvin jamming away on his saxophone?!? Completely and utterly I think! I colored him with my reinkers and aquapainter brush on Georgia Pacific cardstock. His outfit matched up perfectly with Basic Grey's Marrakesh collection, so I used that paper. Then, because I didn't have any ribbon to match the deep hues of this paper, I decided to use an embellishment that I don't normally gravitate towards - a flower! And then that's when it hit me...I had created a card with paper and embellishments that looked like one of my Critter Crew Sistah's, Sparkle Smith!! So Sparkle, this card is an homage to your fabulous style my sweet friend! :)

By hopping along with us, you have a chance to win yourself all three Critter Crew images just by leaving a comment on each blog today! So don't forget to leave some love!

All three of Marina Neira's digital stamps are available right now over at The Greeting Farm, but before you head over there and make your purchase, head to your next stop along this hop, which is the talented Shaela's blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

FFF and a Sneak Peek!

Friday, May 14, 2010

Hello Friends!

It's finally Friday! Woohooo! Are you ready for the weekend? Got any plans? Other than date night tonight, we've got a family birthday party to go to on Saturday and Sunday looks pretty quiet so far. I'm hoping to sort through my summer clothes and pitch what I don't wear anymore, figure out what I need more of and start putting some of my winter clothes into storage. That's the plan anyway....who knows if we'll stick to it! ;)

Today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a color one! And it's all about the colors of looooooooove...Pale Pink, Pink and Red

Aren't they the sweetest looking couple?? This is Timmy and Penny and they're one of three brand new Marina Neira digital images being released tomorrow along with that FABULOUS Roll Call mega set! I borrowed this week's 2Sketches4You layout for my card (which I was pretty excited about since I haven't been able to do many of them lately!) I used Martha Stewart's edge punch for the scalloped detail.

Timmy and Penny were colored up with my SU reinkers and aquapainter brush. I used SU's Going Gray on there bodies and a combination of More Mustard and Soft Suede for Timmy's clothes, and Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose for Penny's outfit. I added some Glossy Accents to Timmy's eyes to make them shine.

Here are the links to check out what the Farmer's and Critter Crew created for today's challenge:
