Jingle All The Way!

I'm back!

Did ya miss me at all?? I'm sorry for being absent so long! Work sent me away to help a sister company of ours on a special project. No one really knew how long I was going to be needed, so we were just taking it one day at a time, but they ended up needing me for two weeks!! It was great experience but the only down side was that I had to travel to Boston every other day! From little 'ol Keene, that's 2hrs each way! The overtime was great but I was stupid exhausted and staying up until the wee hours in my craft room was the last thing I felt like doing! I just wanted to crawl into my bed and sleep each night! Thankfully that project is over and I can get back to what I love doing - coloring and crafting! :)

I spent last weekend building a tufted headboard, so because I was not in my craft room, I thought I'd share a card I made during my time as a Dirty Dozen girl earlier this year!

I made this one for May's theme of  a 'Box of Chocolates' (If  you're a Splitcoast member, you'll be able to see this gallery). Good thing I had this stamp on hand, because this little guy's hot cocoa was the only stamp I had that was even remotely close to the chocolate theme! And since it's almost Christmas, I thought it was the perfect card to share with you all!

The stamp is called "Henry Mouse with Large Tea Cup" and it's by Whiff of Joy. I believe my sweet friend Mary gave this one to me! He's a cutie, isn't he?? Love those big, billowing ears of his! To make this card I used some old papers from MME's Jovial collection, Bazzil Basics cardstock in Bitter Chocolate (which is my go-to color.....dark brown is the new black in this craft room!), and some PTI kraft cardstock. The image was colored up with my SU reinkers (Creamy Caramel for the mug, Close To Cocoa for Henry, Ruby Red for the stool and Sahara Sand for the ground shadows. Then I sponged the edges of the image (cut with a Spellbinders Labels One nestie) with Antique Linen and Tea Dye. Each of the patterned paper panels were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and machine stitched to Bitter Chocolate Bazzil Basics cardstock. Then I added some sparkle with some glitter ribbon and a button. The sentiment is from the There She Goes No Peeking and Holly Jolly sets.

Speaking of There She Goes, it's the week before the new releases, so that means it's the There She Goes (Again!) week over at the TSG's blog! We're showcasing three lovely sets all week long and on Friday, the girls and I will be sharing a new card we've all created using one of the sets! So pop on over there and check out the holiday cheer! (Totally meant that to rhyme! lol)

See you all Friday!
Hugs!

The Love Of Friends

Good Morning!!

So again this weekend flew by wayyy too fast. It rained here all Saturday so we couldn't do much, then Sunday was gorgeous, but way too short. We managed to tackle some more cleaning and organizing of our teeny apartment. We burnt all our old CD's onto an external hard drive and into iTunes so we could pack away the CD's and reduce the clutter and I hemmed and put up the new curtains in Syd's bedroom and our living room. Looks like a home now rather than just an apartment. :)

I also managed to create a few cards too. Love productive weekends! I was recently given this beautiful Whiff of Joy stamp by my sweet friend Amy (thanks girl!) and I immediately had to color her up and put her on a card!

Isn't she sweet?! I used Distress Inks for her clothes and hair and some Soft Sky from SU for the background and Sahara Sand for the ground. Then I added some glitter with a Quickie glue pen to her wings and on some of the hearts. After coloring Melinda up, I automatically reached for my K&Company vintage paper stacks because that's what I usually go to and use. But then I had a change of heart since I always use that paper, and went for some old My Mind's Eye paper instead. It was much more colorful and pretty - just like this guardian angel!

Here's a close up of the detail in the image. The little charm was something I found at a CKC Convention a couple of years ago. Came in handy today! LOL

My little girl is home from daycare today. She developed a sore throat over the weekend and her voice has gotten really husky. Poor baby. :( Hopefully it's nothing a bit of rest and medicine can't fix. Thanks for stopping by today!

Good Morning!

I have been flat out like a lizard drinking at work this week. We've been working on recreating a computer model of a building built in 1858 here in town and every time I think I have enough measurements to make the model work, something else doesn't add up! I feel like a dog chasing his tail! It's really starting to drive me crazy.

A few weeks back I was kindly sent some Whiff Of Joy images from my friend Jenn. I've seen these stamps all over blogland and SCS, but I've never colored one in before...until now. And wholey cow - have I been missing out! This little girl, Willow, was so much fun to color! I think I used every Distress Ink pad I own to color her. Totally worth it though.

The sketch came from this week's Friday Sketchers challenge. I used what Prima flowers I had, but I wish I had the pretty, colorful ones that I see so often. Got to use up what I own first. That might take a while. ;)

Good any plans for the weekend? Other than cleaning my car, I don't think we have anything going on, for a change. Sometimes that's a nice thing. See you tomorrow!
