Splishing and a Splashing

It's Sunday already?! Where do the weekends go?? Well, I'd better get cracking and show you today's Hanna Stamps set being released this coming Monday...

Introducing Pool Party!

I remember days like this. The summer my family moved from New Zealand to Australia was spent just like this. We spent every minute of our spare time in my Aunt's pool! The floating kids in this stamp set reminded me of those lazy rivers at water parks. Those are fun, aren't they? For this first card, I used this week's sketch from Taylor VanBruggen's TECC66 challenge. I was creating this main image in my head and when I saw Taylor's sketch, everything else fell into place.

I stamped out the three kids floating along the edges of the center panel. Then I stamped them out again on some scrap watercolor paper. I colored those up with SU inks and aquapainter, cut them out and popped them on dimensionals. The water was created with a wash of Cool Caribbean and more layers of color in the shadow areas. Then I added some Stickles for sparkle. I ended up using 6 of the 12 stamps from the set in this card alone.

For this second card I used two more stamps from the new set. You know, I've never figured out how to get on a long floatie like these, gracefully. Is there even a graceful way to get on these things?! I think not. Maybe that explains the expression on her face! I chose not to raise these images off the base layer because the underlying layers were going to be raised instead and it would have been too much. I added some sparkle to the water with Stickles, some sparkly designer paper, and some dew drops to add to the water element.

I hope you've all enjoyed the sets I've shown you this weekend. I have one more Riley sneak peek for you tomorrow and then at 9pm EST the Hanna Stamps release party will be in full swing! Come for great chatter and giveaways! Don't forget to check out the rest of the Hanna Girl's and our two guest designer's work on their blogs (list is on the left) or use the keyword HSDT on SCS to see all their work in one place.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a relaxing Sunday.

This is too dang cute. Love both of them and the fun colors. Down here people float in the river every summer to escaper the crazy Tx. heat, so that's what I thought of when I saw these. Your coloring rocks too!
