Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Syd and I took her Narnie strawberry picking again this weekend. The picking is so easy at the moment, it's hard to pick anything less than a tray full of them! At least we got to split it this time with Narnie. :)
I'm a little sad to show you this card today. You see, it's my last week designing for Doggone Stamps. I have been part of this wonderful family business for the past 6 months and I've met some wonderful stampers because of this company. I have had such a great time playing with these stamps! The images have inspired much chatter and laughter between me and my girlfriends over what sentiments would make for funny cards. I want to wish Nancy, Brian and the new DT much success in the future.
When I finished this card, my husband asked if I was feeling ok because it appeared a little darker than my usual cute cards. All I could say was "The paper made me do it." I've had it sitting in my stash for at least three years but could never find the right card or project to use it on. It's (appropriately) called 'Clown' and for some reason, I think this court jester and the paper are a match made in heaven!
Laughs best? Laughs loudest? Laughs longest? He's definitely laughing at something! Maybe at me for making this card? LOL I don't mind these moody colors, but I know they're not every one's cup of tea. Mr Jester was colored up with reinkers and an aquapainter on watercolor paper. Then cut out and popped on dimensionals onto the circle panel. That inverted scalloped circle was created with decorative scissors. I wanted to use ribbon on the card, but not in the usual way just because I didn't want to make this a 'typical' card. A tied ribbon would have been too cutsie for shady Mr. Jester. I loosely machine stitched around the edge of the base panel to create more of a whimsical feel.
Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow my daughter is turning 4, so I'll have a birthday card to show you and maybe even a picture of the birthday girl herself! :) (Where does the time go?!)

this is so fabulous! Happy birthday to your daughter...can't wait to see pics of the birthday card and birthday girl!
He certainly made me laugh - I love the combo...it's a super card!
While the paper might be somber the jester certainly is not with his vibrant colors. You colored him up to perfection. You've done such a great job with the Doggone stamps and represented them well. I can't wait to see the birthday girl.
I think the papers/colors are perfect! Wonderful card!
A wonderful card and the papers and moody colours are absolutely perfect for this image, your card really stood out to me in my g reader, perfect in every way. I hope your Daughter has a lovely birthday. Chris :)
I'm so glad to have been on DGS with you, so I could visit your fabulous blog and get to know you better.
Great card! My girl just turned 5 a couple weeks ago and I'm going crazy with how big she's getting. If I find a way to make them age no more, I'll send it your way!lol
Hugs
Happy birthday to Syd!
And I love this card. The colors may be dark, but I like dark! Now all the clown needs is "angry eyebrows" and it could be "darker" LOL.. but you know me... I'm of twisted mind, so of course I'd like th darker colors and twisted sentiments....
XOXO
Sandra, I love your card...happy birthday to your girl!!! Can't wait to see her birthday card and a pic of the birthday princess :)
FABULOUS!!! I love it!
I am really sorry that you feel this way, Sandra... You have done an amazing job with Doggone stamps! As to the card... It is very beautiful and your coloring is stunning. You probably tired to hear the same words from me, but I can't help, I simply admire your talent! Hope that tomorrow will be a better day, and it will be - looking forward for the Birthday Girl pictures and card!
