TSG168: Get Sentimental

Monday, August 6, 2012

Good Morning!

What a weekend we had! Friday night we went to the county fair; we went on some rides and watched the monster trucks crush a bunch of cars! Then on Saturday, we sold our old bedroom set to make room for a tufted headboard I need to make, then we had a play date with one of Syd's friends and her parents and explored a kids museum in Vermont. Saturday night I watched the classic Cleopatra movie while tearing up t-shirts for a rug I'm making for our bathroom. Yesterday, after a late breakfast, The Man decided to install the picket fencing we got for free off our local Freecycle.org website. He rented a hole digger and kept hitting rock after rock after rock! But he finally finished it and for a freebie - it looks great! I'm looking forward to a slow weekend again....is it Friday yet?! :)

Unfortunately, it's not, but it is Monday and I've got another There She Goes Challenge for you! This time, I'm hosting it and my challenge for you is to use a sentiment as your main image or focal point. I was cursing myself when it came time to make my card because everyone knows I like to color and I couldn't! Stoopid girl! So, I had to get creative some other way...

I spied a comic book sketch in my search online for inspiration and I had a light bulb moment! Speech bubbles!! The Oh Snap set has a bunch of them!! So I created the look of a comic book layout with patterned paper and let the speech bubbles do all the talking! Does it look like a comic book page to you?? I think it does a little bit. I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1939 but I bet this would look even better with some bright, funky paper too! (I didn't even sew on this card! Are you shocked?!) The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Happy Mail mini set.

Now it's your turn! I dare you to make a card using a sentiment as your main image!

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project using this color combo, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 13th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG168 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
