My sweet friend Michelle is expecting her first grandsons any day now and I've been dying to make her a baby card. Yes, I said 'grandsons'. Her son and daughter in law are expecting twin boys any day now! And I'm sooooo excited for her!
I definitely wanted to create an elegant card in blue hues, so I pulled this double sided patterned paper that I bought from Hanna Stamps. It has a really nice damask pattern on it which I love. The stamp set I used is from Wordsworth. I was given this set by my dear friends on SCS for my birthday last year. They really are good to me!
Anyway, so first stamped the little onsie in Soft Sky onto the Very Vanilla cardstock then watercolored it in a bit and used So Saffron to create a bit of shadow behind it. Then I stamped the beautiful quote in Chocolate Chip straight onto the onsie image. That layer was then sponged with Antique Linen and a tiny bit of Vintage Photo. I layered it onto more Very Vanilla and then Bitter Chocolate Bazzil cardstock. The blue layer was sponged around the edges with Weathered Wood and stamped with the 'baby text' stamp twice because we're celebrating twins! Then the base layers edges were sponged with Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo for added depth.
I was originally going to stack each layer of this card completely plumb to each other but when I was stacking before gluing them down, they accidently shifted on me and I realized that it looked better that way! Love happy accidents don't you?!
Today's Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge (HSC64) is hosted by the talented Diana Gibbs and her challenge is to create a birthday card. Technically, this is a birthday card, and I've used paper that I bought from Hanna Stamps...ya think Diana might give me the gong?! LOL
