TSG55: Make An Impression

Monday, May 17, 2010

Good morning sweet friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Date night was a great night out. We ended up seeing Iron Man 2 instead, which was still good, then we went to a nice local restaurant and I had a even nicer cocktail to go along with my scrumptious meal! ;) It was definitely a great night! hahaha On Sunday we ended up checking out the grand opening of a local Market Basket grocery store. Every store lays out their produce differently and you just have to get used to where everything is, but I really didn't like how they laid out this one. The frozen foods were divided up on either sides of the store and the next aisle after the cereal was the detergents? Hubby says I'm a little 'particular' about my grocery shopping but seriously, would you stock disenfectants next to your food?

This week's There She Goes challenge is brought to us by Jessica and it's all about making an impression! And no, it's not about embossing. It's about using line art as an impression for your background. This is a fun technique to use when you might not feel like coloring or are short on time. Larger line art type images (like the café from Daily Grind) work great! Simply stamp your image in a light colored ink for the background. You can then use dimensionals to add smaller images (that have been colored and cut out) on top of the background image.

I really liked the idea behind this challenge, but you know me - I couldn't resist a bit of coloring! ;) Domestic Goddess works brilliantly with the Loads Of Fun set, especially for this challenge! The washer and dryer set were stamped with Distress Inks 'Antique Linen' on some scrap October Afternoon paper, and I stamped Miss DG and her laundry basket on some Strathmore Bristol Vellum and colored them up with SU reinkers. The sentiment is from the Loads of Fun set, which works so well when Miss DG is on the card with it!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes line art as a background, then go to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (May 24th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
